Make More of Your Outdoor Space

A patio should look right alongside your home and work for the way you use your garden. Whether you want space for outdoor dining, somewhere to sit in the sun or a more practical layout, we’ll help you consider the options.

Lewis and the team undertake patio and paving projects of all sizes. We discuss the materials, layout and preparation needed, with attention to the ground beneath the paving as well as the finished surface.

Our Patio & Paving Services

Patio Installation

Completed patio in mixed-colour paving slabs, laid across a rear yard enclosed by a red brick wall with a timber gate.

A new patio can turn an unused part of your garden into a space you enjoy spending time in. We install patios suited to your property, whether you’re creating a small seating area or a larger space for family and friends.

We’ll discuss where the patio will sit, how much space you need and how it connects with doors, paths and the rest of the garden. The proposed work will also consider access, existing ground levels and how rainwater will drain.

Porcelain Paving

Light grey porcelain paving laid in a long, narrow garden between timber fences, with a dark border along the edge.

Porcelain paving offers a contemporary finish, with a range of colours and sizes to suit different gardens. It can work particularly well where you want clean lines and a consistent appearance.

Choosing the right outdoor paving involves more than colour. We’ll discuss the suitability of your chosen slabs, the layout, cutting and edging details, and the installation requirements. Porcelain needs appropriate preparation and laying methods to achieve a sound, lasting finish.

Natural Stone Patios

Indian stone patio in mixed buff, grey and rust tones, edged with a dark block border and a curved planting bed.

Natural stone brings variation in colour and texture, giving each patio its own character. Sandstone and other suitable paving stones can complement both traditional properties and more modern gardens.

We can talk through the appearance you prefer, the available paving sizes and how different laying patterns will look in your space. Stone varies between products, so we’ll also discuss practical considerations such as the finish, maintenance and suitability for the intended use.

Garden Paths & Paved Areas

Well-positioned paths make it easier to move around your garden and connect the spaces you use most. We lay paving for side passages, garden routes and other outdoor areas where a firm, practical surface is needed.

We’ll consider the width, route and levels, along with how the paving meets existing surfaces. Whether the path is part of a new patio or a separate improvement, the aim is a useful finish that sits comfortably within the garden.

Patio Replacement & Preparation

After

If an existing patio is uneven, damaged or no longer suits your garden, replacing it provides an opportunity to improve both its appearance and layout.

We’ll assess the existing paving and discuss what needs lifting, removing or preparing before new paving is installed. Depending on the site, the work may involve excavation, a suitable sub-base, bedding and drainage considerations. We’ll explain the proposed approach rather than simply laying over an unresolved problem.

How Your Patio Project Takes Shape

  1. Tell Us What You Have in Mind

Send your location, a few photographs and a brief description of what you want to change. If you have ideas for materials or a layout, share those too—you don’t need to have everything decided.

  2. We Look at the Space

Where needed, we’ll arrange a visit to measure the area and discuss the design, access, existing surfaces and ground levels. We’ll talk through practical considerations and the finish you want to achieve.

  3. Receive Your Quotation

Once the scope is understood, we’ll provide a quotation for the proposed work. We’ll explain what’s included and discuss the next steps before agreeing a start date.

Lewis and the team worked so hard to complete our patio. Great communication throughout, helped advise on the right slabs to fit in to garden - they even fixed a bit of patio left a mess by other builders. Would definitely use again and have already recommended to others. No hesitation to say we're really happy we chose them to complete our project.

Patio & Paving Questions

How much does a new patio cost?

The cost depends on the area, paving choice, access and the preparation required. Removing an existing patio, changing levels or addressing drainage can also affect the quotation. Send photographs and approximate dimensions to start the conversation; a site visit may be needed to price the work accurately.

Should I choose porcelain or natural stone?

Both can work well, but they offer different appearances and maintenance requirements. Porcelain generally gives a more consistent finish, while natural stone has individual variations in colour and texture. We’ll discuss your preferences, budget and how you plan to use the space.

Can you replace my existing patio?

Yes. We can assess the existing patio and discuss lifting and replacing it. The condition of the underlying base and the proposed levels will help determine what preparation is needed before the new paving is laid.

How do you deal with patio drainage?

Drainage needs to be considered as part of the layout and preparation. Depending on the site, this may involve suitable falls, drainage channels or another appropriate arrangement. We’ll discuss how water will be managed and how the paving relates to the house and surrounding ground.

How long will the work take?

Timescales depend on the size of the patio, access, preparation, materials and weather conditions. We’ll discuss an expected schedule once we understand the project and keep you informed if circumstances affect the work.

Which areas do you cover?

We install patios and paving across Morecambe, Lancaster, Heysham and the surrounding areas. If your property is further afield, contact us to check availability for your location.
